MANILA, Philippines - Comedienne Melai Cantiveros and her reel and real life sweetheart Jason Francisco admitted they are nervous about their movie scheduled to be shown just a day before the premier of the Hollywood film "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.”

"The Adventures of Pureza: Queen of The Riles" will hit theaters on Wednesday, July 13.

"Alam niyo po, kinakabahan talaga kami dahil nga sa 'Harry Potter'. Pero alam naman namin na after ng 'Harry Potter' ay manonood din sila ng 'The Adventures of Pureza: Queen of the Riles'," Cantiveros said.

Francisco said they respect moviegoers if they would like to watch the last installment of 'Harry Potter' film series.

But he appealed to Filipinos to support local movies especially this movie project where he and Cantiveros take on the lead roles for the first time.

"Okay lang naman 'yon kasi nasa kagustuhan ng tao 'yon. Pero sana ay panoorin nila itong unang pelikula namin kasi pang-pamilya ito at kahit sino ay pwedeng manood," Francisco said.

Directed by Soxie Topacio, "The Adventures of Pureza" tells the story of Pura and her friend Ruben (Francisco) who is secretly in love with her. Kind-hearted Pura takes on odd jobs for her brother Ulam. Pura's adventure starts when she pretends to be the missing Brazilian model, Daniella.

"The Adventures of Pureza: Queen of Riles" is produced by Sine Screen and Star Cinema.

Nico Antonio, Martin del Rosario, Joem Bascon, Bianca Manalo and veteran actress Gina Pareño are also in the film's cast.
