MANILA, Philippines - Barangay officials in Poblacion, Makati asked Diamond Star Maricel Soriano to appear before them as they conduct an investigation into a report that she physically and verbally abused her household helpers.

The complainants, May Cachuela and Camille Acojedo, said the veteran actress hit, kicked and threatened to shoot them after they failed to find the stuff she need for her showbiz engagement.

The two said the incident happened two weeks after they were hired by Soriano.

"Papatayin daw kami," Cachuela said.

They claimed that Soriano's son, Tien, saw what his mother did to them.

Acojedo said Soriano lashed out at them, saying, "Mga p*%*ta*ng i*%a niyo, bu*%@t kayo, sakit kayo sa ulo!"

They also denied allegations that they stole from Soriano.

In fact, they said, Tien was the one who gave them permission to leave the building.

The helpers also claimed that the Diamond Star is a drug user and they believe it is the reason for her unlikely behavior.

"Para ho siyang utal-utal," Cachuela said.

The two recently filed a complaint against Soriano with Barangay Poblacion in Makati.

Barangay officials have asked the actress to appear before them in their investigation and to coordinate with them as soon as possible.

A barangay official even said this is not the first time that a complaint about Soriano reached them.

"Ayaw daw nila swelduhan pero nabasura. Pero naayos din kasi hindi na sumipot," Alex Reyes, barangay secretary of Barangay Poblacion, said, referring to another complaint filed by Soriano's former household helper.

On Wednesday, authorities are set to conduct an investigation into the case.

The result of the victims' medico-legal exams are also set to be released that day.
