LOS ANGELES – The manager of singer Nora Aunor told Balitang America that the Superstar had a last-minute change of plans, and will fly to the Philippines on July 31 instead.

Aunor was a no-show at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) where she was supposed to take Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight 103 out of Los Angeles to Manila.

Earlier this week, Aunor’s manager Cecile Ramos told Balitang America that the actress was leaving at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night (Wednesday afternoon, Manila time).

The apparent reason for Aunor’s change of heart: changes in the script production schedule of her upcoming movie to be shot in the Philippines.

“Ang sinabi niya sa akin may mga changes–may inaayos daw sa kanyang script,” said Ramos. “Last minute kasi nalaman niya na 'yong script niya ay revised and the shooting is going to happen in September.”

Ramos said Aunor is “leaving on the 31st, definitely,” because of arrangements being made by her producer, a member of the Ejercito clan headed by former President Joseph Estrada. “

'Yong ticket ipapadala na and 'yong kanyang lodging and everything is already prearranged,” Ramos said.

Balitang America reporter Steve Angeles, who is Aunor’s godson, saw Aunor at her Los Angeles home Wednesday morning.

Angeles said Aunor answered the door when he knocked but did not want to speak with him.

“She said she was not feeling well, and would not confirm when she would fly back to the Philippines,” said Angeles. Angeles added that Aunor “appeared to be tired.”

At the LAX Tuesday evening, media waited for as long as 4 hours but there were no signs of Aunor. Noranians eager to see a comeback waited at the terminal to see if the reports of her homecoming were true.

“Everybody is waiting for her because I think ("The Buzz" host) Boy Abunda was talking about her to come back so we are excited. I’ve been a Noranian forever,” said Liberty Ignacio who was dropping off her son at the airport.

According to workers at the PAL ticket counter, Aunor could rebook the flight without any fees because of her business class ticket. – Reports from Yvee Tadeo Guevarra and Steve Angeles, ABS-CBN North America News Bureau
